He also founded a 650-student K-14 school, an orphanage, a clean water project, a reforestation program (planting thousands of trees), a health clinic, a radio station, a home construction effort, and The University of Fondwa (Haiti’s first rural college). Over the years several of his close friends and colleagues were murdered because of their work for the poor. Almost everything Father Joseph built over 25 years was destroyed by the 2010 earthquake, but he keeps moving forward with an infectious sense of humor, an inspiring determination, and a deep, inclusive faith.”

Much of Father Joseph’s community has just been destroyed by Hurricane Matthew and he will not be able to travel to Boston for the screening. Support for the film and for Father Joseph’s project is especially needed at this point, so if you can come to the screening and/or purchase the DVD of the film, the help would be most welcome.

An active RSVP link to the Friday event is included in the flyer.
